Aurora, CO – Mile High Feedback had the chance to sit down with local band, Wild Angelz. Wild Angelz, a Denver based band, has been on the up-n-coming list as far as the local music scene goes. With one release under their belt, the guys have been playing local shows trying to up their fan base. The band has a current line up of five members, Nikki Steal on vocals, S.C. Ghost on bass, Roxii Camaro taking the lead guitar slot, T.Z. Synn on rhythm guitar, and the youngest and most colorful member Miki Mayhem the self proclaimed beat master or drummer.
Like with most bands, the early days included several line up changes before the current line up was put in place. Founding member Roxii Camaro told us that the band was called Phenix Rising, he was a part of that band before he felt as if he needed to get out and do his own thing, which lead to collaborating with vocalist Nikki Steel, who was also playing bass at the time. When we asked the group several questions, form recoding plans and influences, and this is what we got.
MHFB – Looking back now at your EP “Love Denied,” are you completely happy with the end result, or would you change anything in hindsight?
WA, We would go back and record it with our bassist, S.C. Ghost, who wasn’t with us when we did the recording.
Wild Angels has several dates in Denver, what is your favorite venue in Colorado?
WA,( Nikki), The Gothic, and playing Casselman’s, was a good experience, you walk in and it looks very small, then you go in the back.
How would you describe The Denver scene?
The Denver scene is difficult, cut throat, there is a lot of competition between the bands, and there shouldn’t be. The Massachusetts bands, like Kill Switch and those guys, they all stick together, push each other and help each other out.
Did you decide to make a Coca-Cola commercial? What has been some of the feedback? Did you hear any thing back from the Coca-Cola company?
The coke thing was a school project for one of our friends that is attending the Art Institute, we where helping him out with that, he got an An on the assignment. The offer is on the table if Coke wants to work with us, as long as people don’t think we sold out.
I know you participated in the Best Band in Denver, that KBPI hosted, how did that turn out for you?
We placed in the top 6, we finely got a good lineup that works, that took a long time for us to get that.
With the music business changing so much, how do you feel about the fact that a CD has no worth today, and a lot music is just given away?
We don’t mind giving the music away, the only way to make it is to let the music out for free, getting people out to the show is most important.
This question is for Roxie, you play a Randy Roads flying V, is Randy a huge influence why?
With a crazy, are you freaking kidding me look on his face he said, ” Randy is a huge influence, it should be a religion.”
The band has an up coming shows in the metro area, on March 5 at the SideKick Saloon, for more information goto
